Illegitimate
Despite the polar-wind, the terrible freeze, and the no show ‘snow’ day,
I find I love you- again,
Not because the boiler’s rattling,
Not because I burnt the soup, and now I’m burning garden rubbish in the house.
Or because the dog is trying to lick my mouth, or the window, or the door.
The snow comes in pathetic whiffs on a demanding wind.
No two foot drifts.
Nothing barring my way.
Not the freezing wind or the broken voice on the radio,
hollow as a tree with no promise.
Nor the fat wood pigeon pecking the ice, looking glamorous.
Nor my three oil paintings hanging on my walls in my house, where I live.
The skeletal trees bare the brazen wind on this illegitimate snow day.
The fire hisses and cracks with the freeze-dried wood.
These things exist, but that’s not why I love you.
I love you most because when that kid told our son you sucked dildos for a living,
You said, ‘How does he know?’

Batman v Superman
Isn't that a no brainer?
Superman is good, Batman is, worldly.
He's a business man, in this film he's also a 'buff' middle aged, possible manic depressive, lethareo, and he does not want to be a super hero. For some reason, that no one knows, he doesn't want anyone else to be a Super hero either. In fact he decidedly takes against Superman.
The imagery is so 9:11 you think your life hasn't moved on. You have not a clue what is going on for the first 35 minutes...at least...then you start to wonder if the Americans really believe that if you throw enough muscle at it, enough gratuitous violence, enough weird sentiment...then you can dispose of dialogue, acting, truth, hope, joy...cinematic experience, and be glad, so glad you went to see Americanism at it sorriest, saddest level.
With the unhinged Lex2, techno freak , believing he can kill God.
America killed God?
America killed cinema?
America killed?
Lois Lane tripping around in 8 inch heals; impressive in a dessert massacre, the streets of Gotham, her workplace, her home, underwater, in an apocalyptic landscape ...at the grave side ...
It's exhausting how shallow I feel, how empty, how hopeless and futile and shallow this world is.
The only thing that jollies it up is wonder women's appearance, her costume is so good it doesn't need colour. Nobody cares where she comes from, everyone is glad she turns up.
Then there's the weeping at the tomb, Superman, despite his annoying dalliances with Lois, is the saviour from somewhere else...and he will return. There were sub terranean tremors, there were.
He is not dead...
HE is alive...

Job and Cinderella
LAVENDER BLUE, DILLY DILLY,
I think I just got Cinderella for the first time.
DO YOU LOVE ME, DILLY DILLY?
DO I LOVE YOU?
The story of a woman who endured horrible atrocities and maintained her virtue, maintained her hope, her peace, her love, her generosity, her servitude, her humility. In short had integrity, therefore had Christ.
A woman who won her ultimate reward.
A woman humiliated and down trodden.
Mistrusted and maligned.
As with Job whose ultimate reward is Jesus, whose redeemer lives-
so for the first time in my life I can see Prince Charming as God himself
- without vomit.
That is a revelation my friend, right there.
The whole point about Cinderella and Job is they don't get bitter...
Who knew?

This is Summer
My name is Summer, I am a Westie/Kelpie cross, I don't know what that means but,
I like this.
I can climb trees when I chase squirrels, because I really, really
want one, of my own. All to myself.
And you will see this.
And this.
And this.
While I do this...
I also do this.
And this...
You will know I have had enough when I do this!
I will make you do this.
And I will make you look like this,
and this...
I will introduce you to new friends
and heroes
and legends
we will have fun.
My name is Summer x

Leviticus RBT God's blood
Leviticus gives us an amazing perspective of God in our lives and in our world but you can't see the perspective unless you look at the whole picture Leviticus is a picture of Jesus and Jesus talking to his people, 'The Lord said.' What they know, which we seem to forget, is you can't see the whole picture unless you are willing to live in the blood, remembering the salt and keeping the fire burning.
It reminds us that God has not changed and nor have we, in fact it is kind of startling how much Leviticus has to say to us today about how we live and how God loves us and wants to live with us.
Leviticus is all about the blood, and the people's participation in the blood, the slaughtering of the animals, skinning and cutting them into pieces, the blood drained, the blood sprinkled, "the inner parts washed", they dip their fingers in the blood, they wear the blood. Amongst all the gore I have never before seen such a picture of purity, such an image of sanctification and hope.
Leviticus portrays a life of sacrifice, repentance and atonement which today we have forgotten and replaced with the era of the self. Literally the hollow hell of the 'selfie,' the meaningless of me, my and mine. Alternatively Leviticus depicts a world of humility, where sinners understand their need of a Saviour, where they look at, hear, smell, taste and wear the reality of Jesus' sacrifice everyday, every minute of everyday. Radically, individual and community are called to the responsibility of self realisation and a sensitivity of wrong doing, intentional or unintentional, because they are living in the very presence of God's blood.
In Leviticus God's blood is for everyone; including the poor, including the alien, the scapegoat is sent outside the camp too, there is fairness in servitude, there is release from slavery and captivity, there is peace through obedience, the Jubilee is coming, your debts will be wiped out, there is hope because they haven't forgotten the blood and they haven't forgotten the salt and they kept the fire burning.
The king of the world didn't die on the toilet eating a hamburger, leaving nothing but questions and despair, rather the King of the world was ordained to shed his blood as an everlasting atonement for the sins of the world in order to provide answers and hope and a perspective on life and living. This God who turned oceans into blood and water into wine says I love you yesterday, today and tomorrow , I died for you all, my boarders are not closed, my promises are everlasting.
That's the King of Leviticus and that's my King.

30 Then Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood from the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments.
